Building Brand Love for Tinder as the Lead Graphic Designer

National Student Advertising Competition

At George Washington University, Emma had the opportunity to lead the graphic design of the development of an advertising campaign for Tinder aimed at building brand love and increasing attributable downloads in 18-19-year-olds. The campaign won the 2021 National Student Advertising Competition in District 1.

Our team chose the slogan “Find Your Flame” to represent the different adventures Tinder can ignite. Through 725 survey responses and 56 in-depth interviews, we found the target market was craving new memories, and Tinder’s hookup reputation was limiting its recognition as a place where memories are made. To build this recognition, we created an experiential advertising campaign with three main events to build brand love: Tinder x Artechouse, Tinder x Hot Ones, and Flame Fest. We also created out-of-home ads and digital ads that consumers can scan to build their ideal adventure.
